Description

Asikli Hoyuk, Saratli, Ihlara valley, Selime

An incredible day of discovery on this little-travelled path of exploration of Cappadocia 10 000 BCE to the present day. The main attraction of the day and one which is unique in Cappadocia is the visit to the ancient settlement of Aşıklı Höyük. This, the oldest village in Central Cappadocia, is over 10 400 years old and only recently discovered and excavated! A great experience and something to tell family and friends back home!

We visit the fascinating underground city of Saratli where persecuted populations took refuge in ancient times. This secluded site is tucked away from the main tourist route and you will be able to explore tranquilly far from the crowds.

We hike up to the beautiful rock-hewn Selime cathedral enjoying the breathtaking views on our short hike before lunch at Belisirma in the lush green Ihlara valley. This world-famous canyon is 15 km long but we take a short enjoyable hike and see the best part of it before we drive you back to your hotel. Option to visit an onyx factory
