Description
Fully guided tour of Ancient ruins of Laodicea, Lake Salda (Turkish Maldives) and Kaklik Cave). Guaranteed daily departure between 1 April & 1 October
Laodikya, once home to a large Jewish community and one of the Seven Churches of Asia in the Book of Revelation. It was also a flourishing commercial centre with a prosperous trade in black wool. Some of the ruins here are quite well preserved – of particular note are the ruins of one of the stadium whose seats are still perfectly horizontal.
Salda Lake Lake Salda is a mid- size crater lake. The lake area covers 4.370 hectares, and its depth reaches 196 meters, making it one of the deeper lakes in Turkey, if not the deepest. White sandy beaches, limpid water and seven crystal-white islets within the lake complete the scenery.
Kaklik Caves formed over 2.5 million years ago, the caves are full of travertine waters, stalagmites, stalactites and a large quantity of sulphur. Inside you will see several rimstone pools and waterfalls.
